About Us
The Managing Directors, Rob and Vicki Svensk, commenced their boiler and pressure vessel inspection business under the name of Able Boiler Inspections in August 1986 and became a private company trading as Rob Svensk Pty Ltd in June 1991. The business steadily grew to become the largest inspection company in NSW.
After 16 months of investigations, negotiations and due diligence, HSB Engineering Insurance Ltd., Connecticut, U.S.A., through their United Kingdom Branch purchased this business In January 2000. They targeted our company as the premier inspection company of NSW.
Rob and Vicki continued to manage the NSW and QLD branches of HSB until June 2005 when HSB made the decision to dedicate their services wholly to the insurance clients as HSB had now gained their insurance licence within Australia. As we had taken care of our clients for many years, we were not in agreement to put an end to this service so by mutual agreement, the boiler and pressure vessel ‘fee for service’ part of the business was sold back to Rob and Vicki Svensk to become Adept Engineering Australia as it is today.
Catering well for our National Clients has led us into working internationally. We now, under our International Accreditation to NATA are able to complete inspections in New Zealand. We commenced work in New Zealand in January 2010 and travel to New Zealand to carry out inspections approximately every 6 months.
Mr. Robert Svensk is also an ex-NSW Licensed Boiler Inspector, current Senior In-service AICIP (Australasian Institute for the Certification of Inspection Personnel) and has a technical staff of seven additional In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspectors.
After the conclusion of the WorkCover Authority NSW accreditation system in 1997, Adept has supported the AICIP qualification system for in-service pressure vessel inspectors.
